Unstoppable Women Share Stories

Literary Symposium Benefits Garden

Three unstoppable women presented stories of motivation and inspiration at the fifth annual A Write'rs Garden Symposium and Luncheon presented by the Women's Council of the Dallas Arboretum on Thursday, November 10 at 9:30 a.m. at the Dallas Arboretum. Women's Council President, Sharon Ballew, Chairwoman, Jocelyn White, and honorary chairwomen, Dee Simmons and D'Andra Simmons, welcomed guests to this year's program series featuring remarkable women speakers, entrepreneurs and authors.

All three are authors who have followed their passions, believed in their dreams, overcame obstacles, and achieved success. Featured were Paula Lambert, who combined her two passions of food and Italy to found the Mozzarella Company; Dina Moor, whose books have documented inspirational stories of successful Texas women; and Hedda Dowd, the creative founder and visionary behind the successful Dallas restaurant Rise no.1, and owner of a French antique company, Antique Harvest.

"I love this year's Writer's Garden theme Unstoppable Women, said event chair and former on-air personality Jocelyn White.  From our honorary co-chairs to our special authors, we discover ways to triumph over adversity and the roadblocks of everyday life. Plus, they share the joy of the journey. Don't we all want to be unstoppable?"

Proceeds will benefit A Woman's Garden at the Dallas Arboretum, a world-renowned display garden created as a tribute to the spirit of all women across generations.
